What is your Radio doing?

Pick the closest match, or call and describe it in your own words.

Not sure which one fits? That's fine — most people aren't. Call and describe what you're seeing.

Before you replace it

Power, signal, or setting?

Almost every radio complaint sorts into one of three buckets, and they need completely different responses. Working out which bucket you're in is the fastest route to an answer — and it's usually a two-minute conversation.

  • Power: no lights, no display, dead on batteries but fine on mains, or the reverse
  • Signal: it powers up and tunes but reception is poor, drifting or absent
  • Setting: wrong band, wrong source, muted output, or a station list that needs rescanning
  • DAB specifically: a rescan is needed more often than people expect after transmitter changes
  • Internet radios: the fault is often the network connection rather than the radio

Guidance is limited to safe, external checks a product owner can carry out. We will not ask you to open a battery pack, work on exposed wiring, or bypass a safety mechanism. If a product shows heat, smoke, swelling or damage, stop using it and call us.

Refurbished Radio options

If a repair isn't practical, a professionally refurbished unit may be the better route. Every listing states its condition grade, what was tested, what's included and what warranty applies.

Radio questions we get a lot

My radio powers on but there's no sound. Is that repairable?

Frequently the cause is a source, mute or output setting rather than a hardware fault. We'll check the free explanations first.

Is an old radio worth repairing?

Sometimes yes, sometimes honestly not. It depends on the model, the fault and what a comparable refurbished unit costs. We'll give you the straight comparison.

Do you handle DAB reception problems?

Yes. DAB behaves differently to FM — a rescan or an aerial change resolves a good share of DAB complaints.

Can you supply a replacement radio?

Where refurbished stock is available. Every listing states condition, testing and warranty.
