Our process
How We Refurbish Products
Every product we sell as refurbished goes through the same six stages. This page describes what those stages are so you know exactly what you're buying.
The six stages
-
Inspection
The product is assessed on arrival and its overall condition recorded.
-
Diagnosis
Faults are identified and it's determined whether the unit is economically restorable.
-
Repair
Necessary repairs are carried out and components replaced where required.
-
Cleaning
The product is cleaned appropriately for its type.
-
Functional Testing
The unit is tested to confirm it performs as expected.
-
Final Quality Check
A final inspection before the unit is listed or shipped.
This describes our standard refurbishment process. The specific tests carried out on an individual unit are stated on that product's page — if a test isn't listed there, don't assume it was done.
Condition grading
What our grades mean
Grades describe cosmetic condition only. Every graded unit is functionally tested regardless of how it looks.
Grade A
Excellent cosmetic condition with minimal visible signs of use.
Grade B
Good condition with minor visible wear.
Grade C
Noticeable cosmetic wear but fully functional.
What we will not claim
We don't describe a product as "like new" unless it genuinely meets our Grade A standard. We don't call something refurbished unless it went through the process above. And we don't list a test as performed unless it actually was.
If a product has a known defect, that defect is stated on its page.
