Two-way radio repair & support
Radio Not Transmitting? Let's Diagnose It.
Whether you bought it from us or not, describe what the radio is doing and a specialist will help you work out whether it's the antenna, the battery, the programming, the licence or a genuine fault.
- Speak to a specialist, not a chatbot
- Free troubleshooting conversation
- Repair, reprogram, or replace — whichever actually fits
Restore Assist is an independent retailer, repair and technical support business. Network radios require a SIM with an active data plan, bought separately from a mobile operator. Radios that transmit on licensed frequencies require the appropriate FCC licence, which is the operator's responsibility to hold.

What is your Two-Way Radio doing?
Pick the closest match, or call and describe it in your own words.
Not sure which one fits? That's fine — most people aren't. Call and describe what you're seeing.
Model support
Which radio do you have?
Common problems and options vary by model. If yours isn't listed, we can still help.
Before you replace it
A lot of these are programming, not faults
A radio that appears dead is very often a radio that is set up wrong. Wrong channel, wrong tone, wrong talkgroup, or a codeplug that got overwritten — all of which look exactly like a broken transmitter from the user's side.
Before you send anything in, it is worth ruling out the free explanations. That is a short phone call.
- Two radios on the same frequency but different CTCSS/DCS tones will not hear each other
- A DMR radio on the wrong talkgroup or colour code is silent but perfectly healthy
- A network radio with an expired SIM data plan looks identical to a dead radio
- A damaged or wrong-band antenna cuts range dramatically and can damage the transmitter
- Batteries lose usable capacity with age — cold weather makes it look far worse
- Range complaints are frequently terrain and buildings rather than any fault at all
Guidance is limited to safe, external checks a product owner can carry out. We will not ask you to open a battery pack, work on exposed wiring, or bypass a safety mechanism. If a product shows heat, smoke, swelling or damage, stop using it and call us.

Call a Product Specialist [PHONE_NUMBER]Two-Way Radio questions we get a lot
Do you repair radios you didn't sell?
Yes, where the model and the fault fall within what our repair service covers. The call establishes that before you ship anything.
My radios can't hear each other. Is one broken?
Usually not. Mismatched tones, talkgroups or colour codes account for a large share of these calls, and they cost nothing to fix. We check that first.
Can you reprogram radios for us?
Tell us the models and what you need — channels, contacts, talkgroups — and we'll tell you whether it's something we can do and what's involved.
Can you help with my FCC licence?
We can explain which licence applies to how you want to operate, which is usually the real question. The application itself is between you and the FCC — we can't file it for you.
Do you sell radios as well as repair them?
Yes. We sell a 4G network radio that needs no licence and a licensed DMR handheld, both with a 12-month warranty and programming help included.
